It’s the perfect time of year for a family outing to the animal park to meet the many recently born adorable babies and experience a day of adventure. Activities such as the annual Easter hunt and exhibits like the revamped lynx enclosure offer a fabulous day out for the whole family. Looking for some family adventure this Easter? Then a visit to Hellabrunn Zoo is a great way to enjoy the beauty of spring. You can discover amazing native fauna and flora all around the zoo grounds and meet the animals living in spacious enclosures. Recently upgraded facilities include the lynx enclosure. The revamped habitat now offers Mia, Hellabrunn‘s female lynx, multiple places of retreat with new lying platforms and a small watercourse. Several features such as trunks, roots and stones were recently added by the gardening team to round off the modern facility. Numerous benches dotted around the zoo invite you to take a short break and enjoy a hearty snack during your tour.
After visiting the revamped lynx enclosure, families can participate in the egg-citing Easter hunt. Several wooden Easter eggs, bunnies and chicks are hidden in some of the animal enclosures among the colourful early bloomers and sprouting leaves and buds waiting to be discovered. All the hidden wooden Easter figures must be found and counted. Families who would like to join the hunt should pick up a participation card at the ticket counter. Those who enter the correct number and deposit the card in one of the Easter competition boxes at the exits have a chance of winning attractive prizes. Prizes to be won include day tickets, annual passes and one of the last remaining copies of the limited edition photobook featuring the baby elephant Otto. So it's worth taking part! Please note that there are only a limited number of participation cards available at the ticket counter each day. Only one participation card is issued per family or group.
Discover adorable baby animals at Hellabrunn Zoo
In addition to the Easter hunt, there are plenty of other activities and adventures for families to enjoy at Hellabrunn Zoo. The recent baby boom at the zoo means there are many adorable baby animals to discover and observe all around the zoo. From the nimble baby kangaroos to the small greater kudu, the playful Java banteng calves and the youngest member of the agile wallaby group in the Australia geozone - there is a lot to see and admire on an Easter stroll through the zoo. There are even baby animals for children to pet, provided the animals allow it: junior visitors have an opportunity to meet the newborn Bulgarian and Girgentana kid goats in the walk-in enclosures.
"Easter is a time for the family and we are delighted to offer a varied programme for all ages with the Easter hunt, our young animals and of course the many other adventures we offer at Hellabrunn Zoo," says Rasem Baban, zoological director of Hellabrunn Zoo. "We are also pleased that we can welcome our visitors to the zoo again during Easter without any restrictions and wish everyone a wonderful holiday season, hopefully with wonderful weather."
