Hellabrunn Zoo is making some changes to its ticket prices for the first time in several years. Moderate price increases for day tickets and annual passes will be introduced on 1 February 2025 due to rising operating costs.
From 1 February 2025, the zoo in Munich will introduce a moderate increase in ticket prices. The entrance fee for adults will rise to €20. For children, the admission will increase from €7 to €8. The small family day ticket (one parent and their children or children living in the same household aged between four and 14) will rise from €22 to €25; the large family day ticket (both parents and their children or children living in the same household aged between four and 14) will now be €45. Parking fees for the P2 car park on Siebenbrunner Strasse will remain the same, at €6 per day.
The last price increase for general admission took place three years ago. “Hellabrunn Zoo has to act in a commercially responsible manner. Rising costs for energy, animal feed and staff are forcing Hellabrunn to act with foresight in order to ensure the extensive zoo operations can be maintained," said Rasem Baban, zoological director of Hellabrunn Zoo. "The inflationary surge since 2022 has also affected our balance sheet, resulting in huge increases in construction and maintenance costs for our animal facilities and other infrastructure projects. A price adjustment this year is therefore unavoidable, but the increase is quite moderate."
Annual pass prices will also increase. An annual pass will now cost €69 for adults and €34 for children. For families, the price will increase to €69 (small family annual pass) or €138 (large family annual pass). "Munich residents who visit the zoo regularly will still find buying an annual pass worthwhile - the cost of the annual pass is covered after just three visits a year. We are also pleased to announce that, due to popular demand, grandparents and grandchildren (4-14 years) will be eligible for our family tickets, both day and annual passes, from 1 February 2025," added Baban.
Of course, the zoo will continue to offer concession rates for schoolchildren, students, senior citizens, severely disabled guests and groups. In addition, holders of the München-Pass (Munich City Pass) will also continue to receive the stipulated discount on day tickets and annual passes.
Hellabrunn Zoo is one of the largest and most renowned science-led zoos in Germany. The zoo is committed to constantly improving its offerings through numerous investments in animal enclosures and houses, but also in education programmes for visitors.
Gift vouchers for annual passes that have already been purchased can still be redeemed at the ticket offices at Hellabrunn until 31 January 2025, without having to pay the price difference.
